Senegalese native, Nogaye “Maya” Ndao believes in a strong work ethic, elegance in design and execution and collaboration in performance. She takes a vision and makes it a reality through sound strategy development. She naturally sees the threads of opportunity that wind through organization, brings them together into a coherent masterpiece, helps others broaden their imagination and drives material business advantage. Respected as a credible voice in decision making, finding partners, and establishing a relationship in the community, Maya earns a seat at the table wherever she serves.
She has lived in many states in the U.S. and has the fondest memories for Greenwood, Indiana where she lived with her husband and two kids before moving overseas. Now that her kids are older, she is excited about the opportunity to make a difference with the HALFA organization. Ms. Ndao ultimate goal is to become a community outreach officer/fundraiser, using her drive and untiring commitment to bring necessary resources to the healthcare sector in Senegal, which will ultimately provide greater autonomy and dignity to people of Senegal.
Currently, as Management Professional at the State Department, she works at the U.S. Embassy in Saudi Arabia. Maya oversees all the VIP Visits and Events coordination for the Embassy. As a member of a dynamic management team, she is the liaison between several branches of Government (e.g. White House, Congress, Secretaries offices etc...) and the Embassy.
Maya holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Indiana Wesleyan University. She currently serves as the Vice President of the housing board at the U.S. Embassy of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling the world, volunteering, and watching her son’s basketball games

Dr. Diaban was born and raised in Dakar, Senegal and moved to the United States in 2004 after graduating from High School. At a very young age, she became intrigued by the frequent news of sudden inexplicable death of relatives and friends and the difficult access to adequate healthcare. She grew up not understanding why so many people often died of diseases that could be prevented and this gave her a love and passion for Emergency Medicine.
Once in the U.S, she obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences at the University of South Florida and minored in Public health. She later pursued a Master’s degree in Medical Microbiology and Immunology before entering Medical school at the Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine. She is currently finishing a dual residency in Emergency Medicine and Internal Medicine in Detroit, Michigan.
Dr. Diaban’s goal is to help establish a functioning medical emergency system in Senegal, increase access to proper medical equipments’ in hospitals across the country and open access to adequate healthcare for all
